Sanatçı, küratör, yazar ve akademisyen Emre Zeytinoğlu, 28.09. – 23.10.2018 tarihleri arasında Galeri Siyah Beyaz’daki ilk kişisel sergisi ‘Yol Halleri’ ile Ankaralı sanatseverlerle buluşuyor.
1986’dan beri süregelen sanatsal pratiğinin yanı sıra sanat literatürüne süreli ve akademik yayınlarda yer alan çok sayıda makalesi, metni ve kitapları ile katkıda bulunmaya devam eden Zeytinoğlu, bu sergisinde mercek altına aldığı her serüvenin birer güncesine dönüşen not defterlerini izleyiciyle paylaşıyor.
Yolculuğu belli bir noktaya varmak amacından özerk olarak “peşine düşme” içgüdüsünün tetiklediği bir süreç olarak ele alan sanatçı; not alma eylemiyle bu sürecin kroniğini çıkarmak ve anlık olanı kayıt altına almakla kalmayarak sonunu bilmediği serüvenin akışına izleyiciyi de davet etmektedir. Sanatçının sürükleyici hikaye anlatıcılığıyla kaleme aldığı bu anlatılarda, izleyici gelişen durumların kendiliğinden getirdiklerine ve söz konusu öngörülemezliğin yarattığı heyecana tanık olarak gözlemci üçüncü şahıs rolünden çıkıp keşfin getirdiği merak ve haz duygularına ortak olmaktadır.
Farklı anlatılardan oluşan bölümler halinde kurgulanan sergide, galeri mekanına yayılan her bir seride sanatçı not defterleri ve yazılarla desteklenen görseller üzerinden farklı bir tema ve süje üzerine bir kişisel tarihi ele almaktadır. ‘An’a ve rastlantısal olana övgü niteliğindeki, çok katmanlı bu anlatılarla sanatçı, sürece dair bir yol haritası sunmaktan öte izleyicinin imge ve hayal dünyasını tetikleyerek yeni okumaların önünü açmakta, yeni anlamsal düzlemler yaratmaktadır. Kişisel birer serüvene dair bir belge niteliği kazanan, kronolojik düzende sıralanmış serilerin her biri, tarihsel akışın getirdiği nedensellik bağının sınırlarını aşarak gün yüzüne çıkan ayrıntıların zenginleştirdiği, rastlantısallığın öne çıktığı birer anlatı teşkil etmektedir.
Seyahatin bireyin iç görüsüne katkısını vurgulayan Zeytinoğlu’nun sanatsal üretiminde bir izlek oluşturan ve bireyi kendi içine bir seyahate teşvik eden ‘Yol Halleri’ sergisi 28.09. – 23.10.2018 tarihleri arasında Galeri Siyah Beyaz’da ziyaret edilebilir.

Artist, curator, writer and academician Emre Zeytinoğlu will be in front of the art lovers of Ankara with his first solo exhibition at Siyah Beyaz Art Gallery between the dates 28.09 – 23.10.2018. Zeytinoğlu, who continues to contribute to the art literature through his numerous articles, texts and books published in the periodicals and academic journals besides his artistic practice that has been going on since 1986, shares his notebooks that become the diary of each adventure with the viewer in this exhibition.
The artist, who takes the journey as a process triggered by the instinct of “pursuit” independent from the purpose of arriving a certain point; not only does take the chronicle of this process with his note-taking action and take the record of the moment, but also invites the viewer to the flow of the adventure whose end he does not know. In these narratives written by the artist with his gripping storytelling, the viewer comes out of the third person role of observer by witnessing to the spontaneous events brought about by the situation and the excitement caused by this unpredictability, and participates in the feelings of curiosity and pleasure brought by the discovery.
The exhibition, which is constructed in sections composed of different narratives, deals with a personal history on a different theme and subject through visuals supported by notebooks and writings in each series spreading to the gallery space. With these multi-layered narratives, which praise the ‘moment’ and the coincidental, the artist paves the way for new readings and creates new semantic planes by triggering the viewer’s imagination, rather than providing a road map for the process. Each of the series arranged in chronological order, which is a documentary of a personal adventure, constitutes a narrative that is enriched by details coming out of the boundaries of the causality link of historical flow and in which randomness comes to the fore.
The ‘Road States’ exhibition, which encourages the individual to take a journey into herself and creates a path in the artistic production of Zeytinoğlu who underlines the contribution of the journey to the insight of the individual, can be visited between the dates 28.09 – 23.10.2018 at Siyah Beyaz Art Gallery.
